AutoCAD is one of the oldest and most versatile drafting software’s. It can create 2D and 3D drawings for design and construction. With relatively flat learning curve at the beginning, new-comers can come on board easily; however, the learning curve exponentially become steeper for efficient and effective use.

AutoCAD Civil 3D can be called a sub-category of AutoCAD, aimed to address specific needs of infrastructure projects such as Highway, roadway, or drainage systems. Basic knowledge of engineering design concepts, such as alignment and profiles, is a must have. The learning curve is pretty steep at the beginning.

Revit is software for BIM with tools to create intelligent 3D models of buildings, which can be used to produce construction documentation.
