Asbestos

Asbestos is a natural mineral made up of fibers. It is extremely heat-resistant, so it was often used in fireproofing products, insulation, roofing materials, flooring, and ceiling tiles. Although asbestos is not used much today, it could be present in older products and materials. Long-exposure to asbestos fibers can lead to serious diseases such as lung cancer and digestive tract cancer.

Lead

Lead is a heavy metal that is denser than most common materials and known to human since prehistory. Lead is a neurotoxin that accumulates in soft tissues and bones; it damages the nervous system and interferes with the function of biological enzymes, causing neurological disorders, such as brain damage and behavioral problems. Lead can be found in all parts of our environment – the air, the soil, the water, and even inside our homes.

Mold

Mold is a type of fungus that can usually be found in damp, dark or steamy areas, e.g. bathrooms, kitchens, cluttered storage areas, recently flooded areas, basement areas, plumbing spaces, etc. Symptoms caused by mold allergy are: watery, itchy eyes; a chronic cough; headaches or migraines; difficulty breathing; rashes; tiredness; sinus problems; nasal blockage and frequent sneezing.
